Asset and Infrastructure Mapping

Last Updated on: December 24, 2022

In countries where there is rapid urbanization, existing utilities more often are not able to meet the increasing demands. To cope with the demands, the existing utilities are either needed to be upgraded or required to build completely new. A geographic information system (GIS) is a computer system for capturing, storing, checking, and displaying data related to positions on Earth’s surface. GIS enables the users to easily interpret the data from schematic maps, which contain all the information in layers, and to understand the geographic patterns and topography of the region. For this purpose, a survey is needed to be conducted that studies the existing utilities, consumer demand, and augmenting the future demand. ASSAC equipped with the GIS infrastructure for mapping and data collection allows creating a digital database of any area with associated information related to it. Asset & Infrastructure mapping allows mapping the asset & infrastructure of an area such as Schools, Hospitals, Government office buildings, Drainage network, Water supply network etc. It also leads to verification of assets and utilities, suggesting possible solutions and provide sufficient data for augmentation, Consumer mapping of an area of interest, Study and analyze existing water supply, drainage supply system etc.
