Several schemes under the government allow different construction works all over the state of Assam. However timely monitoring of these construction works are not done since it require huge manpower and logistics support. To bridge this gap GIS and Remote sensing acts as an effective tool for real-time monitoring of construction projects. ASSAC identified as the state nodal agency for carrying out GIS and Remote sensing works is equipped with technologies that help in real time progress monitoring. It’s done with the help of archive and current high resolution satellite images, cloud-based app, UAV in a phase-wise manner. Visual inspection of this imagery can help determine changes over a given period of time. UAV used at a construction site can help derive elevation information and ortho-rectified images can be generated to acquire the construction status quantitatively.
